Tacosallad

Do you want to make a nice and fresh taco salad? Taco salad is perfect to combine when you have leftover taco powder and taco sauce from last night.

In my recipe, I use lettuce, ground beef with my taco seasoning, homemade taco sauce, sour cream, jalapeno and cheese on gratin tortilla chips. This is a good and simple recipe.

Here you will find my favorite recipe for taco salad + my best tips for success with the recipe!

Tips for Success with Taco Salad

In my taco salads, I always use ready-made taco ground meat with my own taco seasoning and a sauce made from sour cream and homemade taco sauce.

I think it tastes better with homemade taco seasoning and sauces. It’s also healthier and won’t cause stomach aches if you have a sensitive stomach like ready-made pain relievers can.

If you plan to make your own taco seasoning and taco sauce, you should prepare it before following this recipe. Something I recommend because that would be great!

ground meat substitute

When making taco salad, you can use any type of ground meat – ground beef or vegetable powder works well.

If you use vegetable powder, you have a completely vegetarian taco salad!

Selection of cheese

I usually use cheddar cheese when I make tortilla chips in the oven. But it’s also good to use any other cheese that melts in the oven.

Feel free to use aged cheese, which has a lot of flavor.

an alternative to tortilla chips

When making this recipe, I used Tex-Mex flavored tortilla chips that I already had at home. It turned out well, but for this recipe it is better to use regular salted tortilla chips.

If you are going to buy tortilla chips to make this recipe – buy regular chips that are only salty!

More on Taco Salad

A taco salad is similar to a taco, although you replace the taco shells and tortillas with fresh lettuce and crunchy tortilla chips.

Taco salads can be made from several different ingredients. My recipe is made with crunchy iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, green peppers, jalapeños and avocado.

This is a good combination of vegetables that you can easily substitute by leaving out some vegetables or replacing them with something else.

Replace avocado with guacamole

If you want more “sauce” for your salad, I can recommend a nice avocado guacamole. It’s very simple and then you also get a little extra flavor from the lemon, coriander and cumin.

You can serve your guacamole as a side dish with a few extra chips.
