Strawberry jam is easy to make at home and tastes better than store-bought jam. In addition to being delicious and easy to prepare, it is also healthy without unnecessary preservatives and additives.
Here is my favorite recipe for strawberry jam that only takes 45 minutes to make at home!
Success tips for strawberry jam
Before you go shopping and start your recipe, there are a few things to think about. Here are some tips for success with strawberry jam:
frozen or fresh strawberries
When making this recipe, I used frozen strawberries, they work just as well as fresh!
If you use frozen strawberries, I recommend thawing them first and draining the liquid. If you are using fresh strawberries, wash them thoroughly, peel and cut them in half.
vanilla bean adds flavor
The vanilla pod is not necessary in this recipe, but a little extra good taste is. Anyway, it’s great (and a bit cheap) even without the vanilla bean!
jar sterilized
If you want the jam to last as long as possible, you should disinfect the glass jar first.
Then put the glass jar in the oven set to 100 degrees before pouring the jam.
Check the consistency before pouring into the jar
The jam does not get a solid consistency until it cools down. Check the consistency of the jam by placing the jam on a cool plate. When the jam cools, you can see what the composition of the jam is.
Feel free to put the plate in the fridge before cooking if you want to check the composition!

More strawberry jam
Homemade strawberry jam is not only easy to make, but it is also much tastier and healthier than store-bought jam.
Store-bought jam usually contains preservatives and other additives. When you make your own strawberry jam, you don’t need it, because the sugar acts as a preservative.
Using strawberry jam
Strawberry jam can be used for many things! You can enjoy it on top of pancakes or waffles, with oatmeal and as a filling for sandwiches.
Strawberry jam can also be used to make various baked goods, such as cakes.
