Tips for Success with Kale Pie

Before you start buying ingredients and making pies, there are a few things to consider. Below are some tips to help you succeed with kale pie:

Pre-bake the pie crust

In order for the pie crust not to be too tasty, it is important that you bake it in advance. I always pre-bake the pie base at 200 degrees for 10 minutes, then I raise the heat to 175 degrees and bake the pie for 35-40 minutes.

Also, don’t forget to score the pie crust before baking. Namely, it prevents the formation of air bubbles.

Use organic cabbage

As always, I try to buy as much organic products as possible, as well as fruits, vegetables, flour and dairy products.

Either way, kale is one of the most sprayed vegetables, so it’s good to go organic.

Selection of cheese

I use Westerbotten cheese in my recipe, which gives the pie a wonderful taste. In any case, the Westerbotten cheese can be replaced with other vintage cheeses, such as e.g. hole
