Do you want to make a nice Easter pie and serve it at the Easter table? I think Easter pie is a must because it looks and tastes good.

My Easter pie is made with red onion, asparagus, parmesan and egg yolks. Before serving, the pie gets a slightly more festive look with leaf spinach, asparagus, cold-smoked salmon and poached eggs.

A simple Easter pie recipe that takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to make at home.

This recipe makes 1 pie (diameter 25 cm), which is enough for 8-10 people.


Braiding of wheat flour

  • 3 dl wheat flour

  • 100 g butter (sliced)

  • 0.5 tsp of salt

  • 2 tablespoons of cold water




  1. Heat the oven to 200 degrees.
  2. Cut the butter into cubes and put in a food processor with salt, flour and water. Mix until it becomes a fine dough.
  3. Press the dough into a pie (diameter approx. 25 cm) and prick the bottom with a fork. Leave to rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  4. Pre-bake the pie crust for 10 minutes. Take out the pie pan and reduce the heat to 175 degrees.
  5. Slice the asparagus (cut off the rough bottom).
  6. Cut 10 ends of the asparagus and save for decoration. Cut the remaining spar into small pieces.
  7. Finely chopped onion.
  8. Heat a frying pan with a little olive oil. Fry the onion for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Add the asparagus and fry for a few more minutes.
  10. Grind the Parmesan coarsely. put aside.
  11. Beat the eggs, cream, salt and pepper in a bowl.
  12. Add the fried asparagus and onion to the pie dish. Sprinkle grated cheese on top and add a beaten egg.
  13. Bake on the middle level of the oven for about 30-40 minutes.
  14. While the pie is baking, bake the asparagus tops.
  15. Take the pie out and let it cool slightly.
  16. Garnish with spinach leaves, cold smoked ham, asparagus and half an egg (spicy or plain) before serving.


If you don’t have a food processor to make the dough together. Mix all-purpose flour and salt in a bowl.

Crumble with your fingers until you get a crunchy texture. Add water and knead a smooth dough.

Easter pie is a regular food pie made from Easter ingredients and spices.

It can be prepared in many different ways and the filling can vary depending on the pie manufacturer. Anyway, my recipe is made with red onion and green asparagus.

Easter pie is also made from egg, salty Parmesan cheese and decorated with leaf spinach, asparagus, cold smoked meat and marinated eggs to add Easter flavor and a festive look.

Do you have to put seasoned eggs on top of the Easter pie?

No, you don’t need it. I think it would look beautiful on an Easter table though.

If you don’t want to make pickled eggs, you can replace them with half of a regular hard-boiled egg. It would be nice and delicious too!

Can you substitute the cheese?

Yes, it’s going well. Just make sure you use a tasty and aged cheese for the best taste.

Is this Easter pie vegan?

If you leave out the cold smoked salmon, the pie is vegetarian. However, it does contain eggs.
