Tips for Chevre Salad Success

Below are some tips to help you succeed with chvre salad. Read before you buy and before you start the recipe.

a selection of salads

You can choose any salad for this recipe, but I recommend a mixed salad. When I make chvre salad, I like to use baby spinach, arugula, and romaine lettuce.

Selection of cheese

In this recipe, I used chvre, which is French for goat’s cheese. It is a nice, tasty and creamy paneer.

You are free to buy goat cheese in a large roll or in individual pieces at the meat counter of Ruokauppa. It is good to serve a large piece of goat cheese (about 100 grams) with each salad.

cheese making

Depending on how soft you want the cheese to be, you can cook it in the oven for different times.

If you cook the cheese for 10 minutes, it’s good to know that it will become very soft and it may crack a little when you take it out of the oven, so be careful!

Avoid biting the vinaigrette

To avoid cutting the vinaigrette itself, it’s important to follow the steps in the recipe.

First, mix honey and white vinegar together, then beat lightly, adding rapeseed oil in a stream. Then add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

More on Chevre Salad

Chevre salad is a nice and delicious salad that is suitable for lunch and dinner, especially in the summer when it’s hot outside.

It is a variation of the French dish chvre chaud, which consists of salad, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and baked goat cheese on bread.

Can the salad be prepared the day before?

What you can prepare the day before is to mix the vinaigrette, rinse the salad and cut the chvre cheese into pieces.

You can also climb a pomegranate, which can take some time.

Tips for a more eclectic Chevre salad

If you want your salad to be a little fuller and richer in protein, you can add chicken to it.

You can either cook the chicken yourself and cut it into small pieces or buy ready-made grilled chicken from the grocery store.

Personally, I prefer grilled chicken from the grocery store because it is both delicious and easy to prepare.
