Bifteki are Greek steaks that can be made from mixed ground or ground meat. It is a classic of Greek cuisine, loved by both young and old.

My recipe is made with a combination of minced meat and spices, such as fresh mint and parsley, which give the steak a wonderful taste. Bicarbonate has also been added to make the steak juicier.

Here you will find my favorite biftaki recipe and my best tips for success with the recipe!

Steak. tips for success

When preparing biftak, I recommend using organic ingredients. Buy quality ground beef and organic mint, parsley, onion, garlic and eggs.

If the parsley and mint start to go bad, use them in another recipe. It is important that the fresh spices are fresh and taste good so that the steak has a good taste.

ground meat substitute

Bifteki can be prepared from minced lamb and mixed minced meat, or e.g. lamb and beef or pork.

By using different types of ground meat, you can easily vary the taste of the steak.

finely chop the onion

To make it easier to shape the steak, it is important to finely chop the onion. Also finely chop the mint and parsley.

use bicarbonate

Bicarbonate makes the steak juicier, so don’t forget to mix it!

You can also make recipes without bicarbonate. But I always recommend using it because it makes the steak tastier and juicier.

steak about

Bifteki are Greek steaks similar to kefteds (Greek meatballs). Both dishes are made with minced meat and spices such as fresh mint and dried oregano, which taste great.

In addition to mint and oregano, I also add spices to my recipe, such as thyme, black pepper, salt and fresh parsley.

They can be made from a variety of ingredients, and biftaki recipes vary by steak maker. Many Greek restaurants and families have their own favorite dishes.

How long does a steak take?

Store the steaks in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Eat 1-2 a day.

What can you serve steak with?

I usually serve the steak with homemade tzatziki, fresh salad and fries. These Greek patties go well with boiled potatoes, fried potatoes or potato wedges.
